We said in our article on TV that the turning point for the TV technology has been the introduction of two new types of television: LCD TVs and plasma televisions. We will in this article of the first, the LCD TV.
LCD TVs owe their name to the type of technology used to reproduce the image on the screen, LCD is the acronym for Liquid Crystal Display, which translated from Italian means Liquid Crystal Display. To understand what is the LCD technology, we take a small step back toward the CRT TV (the traditional cathode ray tube TV): to these TVs, the technology constisteva to make light of the phosphor crystals, placed in the panel, through a bombardment of electrons from the cathode (hence the name). For this type of technology required dimensions were rather large due to the presence of its CRT. With the advent of LCD TVs crystals of phosphorus have been abandoned in favor of LCD: Liquid crystal cells can imagine how small of body fluid.
